September 2017, Tanjungpandan Municipality Experienced Deflation 0.87 Percent

Abstract

In September 2017 Tanjungpandan City experienced a deflation of 0.87 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 136.74.

Deflation occurred due to the decline in prices indicated by the decline in the index on two expenditure groups, namely: foodstuffs by 4.40 percent; and clothing group by 0,08 percent. While the other four groups experienced inflation ie the group of finished food, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco by 0.65 percent; housing, water, electricity and fuel group by 0.28 percent; recreation and sports education by 0.32 percent; and the transport, communication and financial services group by 1.97 percent. Meanwhile, the health group did not experience a change in index or relatively stable.

The inflation rate for calendar year (January-September) 2017 is 1.87 percent and inflation rate year to year (September 2017 to September 2016) is 3.83 percent.

The core component in September 2017 experienced a deflation of 0.02 percent. Government component inflation was set at 0.21 percent, while the volatile component deflation was 1.06 percent.
