Abstract

  • In September 2017 Tanjungpandan City experienced a deflation of 0.87 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 136.74.
  • Deflation occurred due to the decline in prices indicated by the decline in the index on two expenditure groups, namely: foodstuffs by 4.40 percent; and clothing group by 0,08 percent. While the other four groups experienced inflation ie the group of finished food, beverages, cigarettes, and tobacco by 0.65 percent; housing, water, electricity and fuel group by 0.28 percent; recreation and sports education by 0.32 percent; and the transport, communication and financial services group by 1.97 percent. Meanwhile, the health group did not experience a change in index or relatively stable.
  • The inflation rate for calendar year (January-September) 2017 is 1.87 percent and inflation rate year to year (September 2017 to September 2016) is 3.83 percent.
  • The core component in September 2017 experienced a deflation of 0.02 percent. Government component inflation was set at 0.21 percent, while the volatile component deflation was 1.06 percent.
