Abstract

In November 2017 the city of Pangkalpinang experienced inflation of 0.12 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 135.15.

Inflation was attributable to rising prices as indicated by the rise of several expenditure group indices, namely: foodstuffs by 0.14 percent; finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.12 percent; clothing by 0.25 percent; health group by 0.12 percent; as well as the transport, communications and financial services group by 0.30 percent. While the expenditure group that experienced a decrease in index is the housing, water, electricity and fuel group by 0.01 percent. While the education group of recreation, and sport is still stable.

The inflation rate for calendar year (January-November) 2017 is 1.31 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2017 to November 2016) is 3.29 percent.

The core component in November 2017 experienced inflation of 0.14 percent. Government component inflation was set at 0.22 percent, while the volatile component deflation was 0.04 percent.
