In terms of production, this is due to improving performance in almost all business fields except Mining and Quarrying Fields and Company Services Business Field. In terms of expenditure, the growth of export activities, both foreign exports and inter-provincial exports pushed the export surplus during the quarter. The existence of the Celebration of Religious Day and the increasing of political party activity ahead of elections Serentak 2018 encourage the increase of Household Consumption and Consumption of LNPRT. In addition, increased construction work and growing employee spending and spending on goods and services also boosted economic performance in Q4 / 2017.
  • Economic growth in Sumatra Island in 2017 reached 4.30 percent, slightly increased compared to the year 2016 which grew by 4.29 percent. The momentum of global economic growth as well as rising prices of various commodities in international markets are driving up output in developing countries. This also brings a good impact for the economy of Indonesia, including the region of Sumatra.
