Abstract

August 2018, Tanjungpandan experienced inflation of 0.50 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 143.46
Inflation occurs due to price increases as indicated by the increase in the index of four expenditure groups: recreation and sports education group by 2.56 percent; foodstuffs group by 1.69 percent; health group by 0.09 percent; and the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0.01 percent. While the transportation, communication and financial services group experienced a price decline of 0.98 percent; clothing group by 0.24 percent; and processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco groups by 0.06 percent
The inflation rate for August 2018 calendar year was 2.79 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (August 2018 against August 2017) was 4.00 percent
The core component in August 2018 experienced inflation of 0.56 percent; volatile components experienced inflation of 1.16 percent; and the government regulated component experienced a deflation of 0.66 percent.
