In November 2018 the city of Pangkalpinang experienced a deflation of 0.01 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 139.06.
Deflation occurs due to a decrease in prices as indicated by the decline in the index in the three expenditure groups, namely: the foodstuffs group at 1.70 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group of 0.05 percent; and the health group by 0.42 percent. While the other four expenditure groups experienced inflation, namely: housing, water, electricity and fuel by 0.12 percent; clothing group by 0.39 percent; recreation and sports education group by 0.21 percent; and the transportation, communication and financial services group of 3.00 percent.
The inflation rate for the November 2018 calendar year is 1.54 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2018 to November 2017) is 2.89 percent.
The core component in November 2018 experienced a deflation of 0.05 percent; volatile component of deflation of 1.82 percent; and the government regulated inflation component of 2.18 percent.
The Combined Two Cities in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, namely Pangkalpinang City and Tanjungpandan in November 2018 experienced a deflation of 0.14 percent with CPI 140.15.
