In November 2018, Tanjungpandan City experienced deflation of 0.38 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 142.16.
Deflation occurred due to a decrease in prices as indicated by the decrease in the expenditure group index, namely the foodstuffs group by 2.80 percent. While the other six expenditure groups experienced an increase in index, namely the processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group by 0.29 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group by 0.56 percent; clothing group by 0.15 percent; health group by 0.17 percent; recreation and sports education group by 0.15 percent and the transportation, communication and financial services group at 1.73 percent.
The November 2018 calendar year inflation rate is 1.86 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (November 2018 to November 2017) is 3.39 percent.
The core component in November 2018 experienced a deflation of 0.46 percent; volatile components experienced deflation of 1.44 percent; and the government regulated component experienced inflation of 1.30 percent.
