Economy of Bangka Belitung Islands in 2019 Grows 3.32 Percent, Slower Compared to Achievements of 2018 of 4.46 percent

Abstract

The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands in 2019 as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices (ADHB) reached IDR 75.83 trillion and GRDP at constant 2010 prices (ADHK) reached IDR 53.95 trillion. Meanwhile, the PDRB per Capita of the Bangka Belitung Islands in 2019 reached Rp50.93 million.

The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands in 2019 grew by 3.32 percent, slowing down compared to 2018 which amounted to 4.46 percent. From the production side, the biggest source of growth comes from the Construction Business Field. While in terms of expenditure, the biggest source of growth comes from the Household Consumption Expenditure Component.

The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands quarter IV-2019 compared to quarter IV-2018 (y-on-y) grew by 3.99 percent, an increase compared to the same period the previous year which amounted to 3.71 percent.

The economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands quarter IV-2019 when compared to the previous quarter (q-to-q) contracted by 0.88 percent. From the production side, this growth contraction is influenced by the contraction that occurred in several business fields that have a large contribution to the economy of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province such as Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; Mining and Quarrying as well as Wholesale and Retail Trade, Car and Motorcycle Repair. In terms of expenditure, although there has been an increase in the rate of expenditure components, it has not been able to boost the overall rate of the Bangka Belitung Islands economy. One component that contributes to the economic contraction is the component of inventory changes.

Sumatra Island economic growth in 2019 reached 4.57 percent, an increase compared to 2018 which grew by 4.55 percent. The total ADHB GRDP of Sumatra Island in 2019 reached IDR 3,427.23 trillion or around 21.31 percent of the total GRDP of 34 provinces in Indonesia. While the GRDP of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province only contributed 2.21 percent to the GRDP of Sumatra Island and 0.47 percent to the total GRDP of 34 provinces in Indonesia.
