Abstract

 In January 2015 Pangkalpinang City experienced inflation of 0.95 percent in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) amounted to 119.38 after earlier also experienced inflation in December 2014, amounting to 2.58 percent with CPI of 118.26.
Inflation occurs because of the increase in the price indicated by the increase in the index five expenditure groups namely foodstuff by 6.52 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas, and fuel 0.63 percent; clothing group of 0.33 percent; health group 0.95 percent; as well as education, recreation, and sport 0.06 percent. While two groups of expenditure deflation ie processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.28 percent and the transportation, communication and financial services 5.50 percent.
   The inflation rate in January 2015 calendar year is 0.95 percent and the inflation rate year-on-year (January 2015 to January 2014) amounted to 3.88 percent.
The core components in January 2015 contributed 0.32 percent inflation and volatile components of inflation of 1.48 percent. While the component whose price is set by the government contributed to deflation of 0.85 percent.
