Abstract

  • In September 2017 Pangkalpinang Municipality experienced inflation of 0.15 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 135.08.
  • Inflation was attributable to an increase in prices as indicated by the rise of some expenditure group indices: the finished food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group by 0.07 percent; housing, water, electricity and fuel group by 0.12 percent; clothing group by 0.28 percent; health group by 0.29 percent; recreation and sports education groups 1.13 percent; and the transport, communication and financial services group 1.11 percent. While the expenditure group that experienced a decrease in the index was only the foodstuff category by 0.58 percent.
  • The inflation rate for calendar year (January-September) 2017 is 1.26 percent and inflation rate to year (September 2017 to September 2016) is 3.46 percent.
  • The core component in September 2017 experienced inflation of 0.13 percent. The component inflation was set by the government at 0.52 percent, while the volatile component deflation was 0.17 percent.
