Abstract

In September 2017 Pangkalpinang Municipality experienced inflation of 0.15 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 135.08.

Inflation was attributable to an increase in prices as indicated by the rise of some expenditure group indices: the finished food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group by 0.07 percent; housing, water, electricity and fuel group by 0.12 percent; clothing group by 0.28 percent; health group by 0.29 percent; recreation and sports education groups 1.13 percent; and the transport, communication and financial services group 1.11 percent. While the expenditure group that experienced a decrease in the index was only the foodstuff category by 0.58 percent.

The inflation rate for calendar year (January-September) 2017 is 1.26 percent and inflation rate to year (September 2017 to September 2016) is 3.46 percent.

The core component in September 2017 experienced inflation of 0.13 percent. The component inflation was set by the government at 0.52 percent, while the volatile component deflation was 0.17 percent.
