Abstract

In April 2018 Tanjungpandan City experienced a deflation of 0.27 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 139.32.
Deflation occurred because of the decline in prices indicated by the decline in the index in one expenditure group, namely: foodstuffs by 1.66 percent. While the six expenditure groups experienced an increase in index of clothing group by 0.97 percent; transactions, communications and financial services by 0.94 percent; finished food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco by 0.16 percent; health group by 0.12 percent; recreation and sports education by 0.01 percent; as well as housing, water, electricity and fuel groups are relatively stable.
The April 2018 calendar year deflation rate is 0.17 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (April 2018 to April 2017) is 2.93 percent.
The core component in April 2018 experienced deflation of 0.12 percent; volatile components experienced a deflation of 1.22 percent; and government regulated components experienced inflation of 0.51 percent.
