Abstract

In November 2017 Tanjungpandan City experienced inflation of 0.26 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 137.50.

Inflation was attributable to rising prices as indicated by rising indexes in five expenditure categories: foodstuffs by 0.73 percent; housing, water, electricity and fuel group by 0.08 percent; clothing by 0.02 percent; health group by 0.37 percent; and the transportation, communication and financial services group by 0.24 percent. While the other two groups experienced deflation, namely the finished food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco group by 0.05 percent; and recreation, and sports education by 0.02 percent.

The inflation rate for calendar year (January-November) 2017 is 2.44 percent and the inflation rate year to year (November 2017 to November 2016) is 3.36 percent.

The core component in November 2017 experienced inflation of 0.67 percent. Government component inflation was set at 0.15 percent, while the volatile component deflation was 0.74 percent.
